According to the publication 'Cilfynydd' written by Dean Powell, she was the conductor of the Cilfynydd Philarmonic Society. A local piano teacher, one of her pupils was a young Geraint Evans, and it was she who invited him to give his first performance of Elijah while only seventeen years of age at the Workmen's Hall. The photograph dates from circa 1915. Donated by Dean Powell.
